J2EE Software Engineer

Interactive Constructs is looking for an entry level J2EE Software Engineer for a large-scale e-learning project.

Required Skills Include:

A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
1 - 2 years of software engineering experience.
Experience working with Java technologies (J2EE, JSP, EJB)
SQL language writing experience
Experience in object oriented design
Experience with XML and XSL
Experience with Ant
Experience with web development languages (HTML, JavaScript)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to work amidst changing deadlines and shifting priorities.
Proven ability to work effectively and independently under limited direction.

Desired Skills:

Experience with databases (Oracle, MySQL)
Experience designing database schemas
Experience with application servers (JBoss, WebLogic)
Experience with Eclipse and JUnit is a plus

The J2EE Software Engineer will work as a part of a project team assigned to either product development or professional services. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of software engineering experience with some exposure to Java technologies (J2EE, JSP, EJB, XML, XSL). Experience with databases (MySQL, Oracle) and application servers (WebLogic, JBoss) would be a plus.

Project Manager

Interactive Constructs is looking for an experienced Project Manager for large-scale
e-learning projects. The Project Manager will report to the General Manager and be responsible for the complete execution of assigned projects.

Responsibilities Include:

Ensure the successful delivery of project(s) on time and within budget constraints by:
- Working with the client to clearly establish the project vision and goals
- Working with the client to develop and manage the project scope
- Develop and manage the internal project plans
- Drive key project management processes - including estimation, change-control, risk management, communications, resource planning, quality assurance, and client satisfaction
Plan and execute the full project delivery lifecycle - from project initiation through delivery and transition to support
Development of project proposals and specifications
Working with the client to identify and fully define project requirements
Providing leadership and motivation to project team
Working with General Manager to identify and develop additional project opportunities within client
Interacting on a daily basis with the client

Required Skills Include:

Ability to interact successfully with clients on a day-to-day basis.
Ability to deliver software projects with cost ranges of $100,000 and $1,000,000.
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks.
Ability to effectively manage internal and external risks, priorities, and expectations in a fast paced environment
Prior experience managing Java based projects.
Proven ability to complete and manage both short term and long term project cycles.
Excellent working knowledge of Project and Excel.
Superior technical and business problem solving skills and judgment.
Proven business analysis skills - including the ability to understand the client business problems and help identify the best way to solve those problems.
Ability to work with client to identify and fully define business and technical requirements for a project.
Ability to travel occasionally.
Ability to utilize either Mac or Windows PC.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to multi-task is critical

Desired Skills:

Experience with publishers/education software a plus.
Experience with application platforms such as WebLogic or WebSphere a plus.

Required experience:

7+ years of work experience in professional services/software development.
3+ years of work experience managing projects of medium to high levels of complexity
